Rita Lee, born on December thirty-first, nineteen forty-seven, is a celebrated Brazilian singer, songwriter, author, actress, and television host. Often referred to as the 'Queen of Brazilian Rock', she has made an indelible mark on the country's music scene, known for her remarkable versatility and innovative approach to musical and audiovisual production. Her career began in the vibrant rock scene of the 1960s, but she later ventured into various genres, including psychedelia, pop rock, disco, new wave, pop, bossa nova, and electronic music, creating a unique blend of international styles and Brazilian traditions.

Raised in São Paulo, Rita's musical journey commenced in nineteen sixty-three with the Tulio's Trio, followed by her involvement with the Teenage Singers, which evolved into Os Seis. She gained national recognition as the lead vocalist and instrumentalist of the influential Tropicália group Os Mutantes.
