Rob Braknis

Rob Braknis, born on January eighth, nineteen seventy-three, is a distinguished Canadian former competition swimmer who made his mark on the international stage at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Competing for Canada, he showcased his talent in the 100-metre backstroke, finishing in sixteenth place, and contributed to the men's relay team, which secured twelfth place in the 4x100-metre medley relay.

In nineteen ninety-four, Braknis set the Canadian and Commonwealth record in the 50-metre backstroke, a testament to his exceptional skill and dedication to the sport. His collegiate career at Florida State University was equally impressive, where he earned the title of a seven-time All-American and was honored as the Atlantic Coast Conference Swimmer of the Year in nineteen ninety-five.

Beyond his swimming accolades, Braknis had the honor of being a torch-bearer for the 2010 Winter Olympics torch relay, further solidifying his legacy in Canadian sports.
