Rob Shearer

Robert C. Shearer, born on October 19, 1976, in Kitchener, Ontario, is a former professional ice hockey player known for his dynamic presence on the ice. His career began when he was signed as a free agent by the Colorado Avalanche in 1995, marking the start of an impressive journey in the world of hockey.

Shearer made his mark in the National Hockey League, playing two games for the Avalanche during the 2000–01 season. However, his passion for the sport took him across the Atlantic, where he spent a decade honing his skills in various European leagues, showcasing his talent and versatility.

After a successful stint abroad, Shearer returned to North America for the 2011–12 season, signing a one-year contract with the Reading Royals of the ECHL. During his time with the Royals, he made a significant impact, scoring fifteen points in thirty-four games.

In January 2012, Shearer returned to Austria, continuing his career with Villacher SV for the remainder of the season. His journey through the ranks of professional ice hockey reflects not only his dedication to the sport but also his ability to adapt and thrive in various competitive environments.
