Rob Waddell

Rob Waddell, born on January seventh, nineteen seventy-five, is a distinguished New Zealand athlete celebrated for his remarkable achievements in rowing and rugby union. As an Olympic Gold Medalist and double World Champion in single sculling, Waddell has left an indelible mark on the world of sports. His prowess extends beyond rowing, as he has also made significant contributions as an America's Cup yachtsman.

Waddell's accolades include being a triple winner of the prestigious New Zealand Supreme Halberg Awards Sportsperson of the Year from nineteen ninety-eight to two thousand. He is renowned for his exceptional indoor rowing machine performances, having recorded the fourth fastest two thousand metre time in the world at five minutes thirty-six point six seconds. This remarkable feat held the world record for nineteen years until it was surpassed by Joshua Dunkley-Smith and later by Oliver Zeidler.
