Rob Wiethoff

Rob Wiethoff, born on September fifteenth, nineteen seventy-six, is an accomplished American actor and voice actor, renowned for his portrayal of John Marston in the critically acclaimed video game series Red Dead Redemption. His journey began in Seymour, Indiana, where he was raised and later graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in nineteen ninety-nine.

After moving to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career, Wiethoff faced challenges in securing significant roles, often landing only minor parts in films and television advertisements. However, his fortunes changed in two thousand eight when Rockstar Games cast him as the lead character, John Marston, in Red Dead Redemption. His performance earned him the Outstanding Character Performance award at the fourteenth Annual Interactive Achievement Awards.

Following the success of Red Dead Redemption, Wiethoff chose to return to his roots in Seymour, focusing on family life. He married his wife Tayler, and together they have two children. Although he briefly returned to acting for the Undead Nightmare expansion, he primarily worked in construction, allowing him to spend quality time with his family.

In two thousand fourteen, Wiethoff reprised his role as John Marston in Red Dead Redemption 2, a prequel to the original game. Initially expected to work for about a year, he dedicated nearly four years to the project as his character's role expanded, making him a playable character once again. Red Dead Redemption 2 was released in two thousand eighteen, further solidifying Wiethoff's legacy in the gaming industry.
