Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Robert Berdella

Robert Andrew Berdella Jr., born on January 31, 1949, was an American serial killer whose heinous acts shocked the nation. Operating in Kansas City, Missouri, between 1984 and 1987, Berdella kidnapped, raped, tortured, and murdered at least six young men. His victims endured horrific periods of captivity, lasting up to six weeks, as he fulfilled his darkest fantasies.

Describing his gruesome acts as a manifestation of his deepest desires, Berdella was ultimately apprehended and faced justice. In August 1988, he pleaded guilty to the first-degree murder of Larry Pearson, receiving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. By December of the same year, he had admitted to one additional first-degree murder and four counts of second-degree murder, sealing his fate as one of America's most notorious criminals.

Known infamously as the Kansas City Butcher, Berdella earned this moniker due to his macabre practice of dissecting his victims' bodies, which he disposed of in garbage bags. He also referred to himself as The Collector, inspired by the film that influenced his criminal methodology. His reign of terror came to an end when he died of a heart attack while incarcerated at the Missouri State Penitentiary in October 1992.
