Robert Choquette, born on April twenty-second, nineteen oh five, in Manchester, New Hampshire, was a multifaceted Canadian literary figure. His family relocated to Montreal in nineteen fourteen, where he would later establish himself as a prominent poet, playwright, and novelist.
In addition to his literary pursuits, Choquette served his country as a diplomat. In nineteen sixty-eight, he was appointed as Canada's ambassador to Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina, a role he held until nineteen seventy. In the same year he began his diplomatic service, Choquette was honored as a Companion of the Order of Canada, reflecting his impact on Canadian culture. Later, in nineteen eighty-nine, he was elevated to the status of Grand Officer of the National Order of Quebec, further solidifying his legacy.
