Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Robert Kocharyan

Robert Kocharyan, born on August thirty-first, nineteen fifty-four, is a prominent Armenian politician and engineer. His political career began in the early nineties when he served as the Prime Minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic from nineteen ninety-two to nineteen ninety-four, before becoming its President from nineteen ninety-four to nineteen ninety-seven.

In nineteen ninety-eight, Kocharyan was elected as the second President of Armenia, a position he held until two thousand eight. His presidency was marked by significant economic growth, with Armenia's economy expanding by an average of twelve percent annually from two thousand one to two thousand seven, largely driven by a construction boom. However, his tenure was not without controversy, as critics accused him of fostering corruption and establishing an oligarchic system.

Following the tumultuous events surrounding the two thousand eight presidential election protests, which resulted in the tragic deaths of ten individuals, Kocharyan faced legal challenges. He was charged in July two thousand eighteen, and his trial commenced in May two thousand nineteen, concluding in March two thousand twenty-one when the Constitutional Court deemed the charges unconstitutional.

After a period away from the political spotlight, Kocharyan re-emerged in Armenian politics after the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War in two thousand twenty. He led the Armenia Alliance in the two thousand twenty-one parliamentary elections, where his coalition secured second place, entering parliament as part of the opposition.
