Robert Wilkie

Robert Leon Wilkie Jr., born on August 2, 1962, is a distinguished American lawyer and government official known for his significant contributions to veterans' affairs and national defense.

From 2018 to 2021, he held the esteemed position of the 10th United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs during the first Trump administration. His leadership in this role was marked by a commitment to improving the lives of veterans across the nation.

Prior to his tenure as Secretary, Wilkie served as the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness from November 2017 to July 2018. His extensive experience in defense policy was further enhanced by his role as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs under President George W. Bush.

In addition to his governmental roles, Wilkie is a Naval intelligence officer in the Reserve, showcasing his dedication to serving his country both in military and civilian capacities.
