Robert William Fisher, born on April 13, 1961, is an American fugitive whose life took a tragic turn in April 2001. A former surgical technologist and military personnel, Fisher served in the United States Navy before transitioning to a career as a firefighter and in the medical field. He married Mary Cooper in 1987, and together they had two children, Bobby and Brittney. However, the family life was marred by Fisher's controlling and often violent behavior, which was exacerbated by his own tumultuous upbringing following his parents' divorce when he was fifteen.
On April 10, 2001, a devastating explosion rocked the Fisher family home in Scottsdale, Arizona. Inside, authorities discovered the bodies of Fisher's wife and children, all of whom had suffered horrific injuries. Mary Fisher had been shot in the back of the head, while both children had their throats slit. Robert Fisher was notably absent from the scene, and police quickly identified him as the primary suspect in this heinous crime.
In the days following the tragedy, Fisher's car was found abandoned in a forest near Young, Arizona, but he remained elusive. On June 29, 2002, the FBI placed him on its Ten Most Wanted list, marking him as the four hundred seventy-fifth fugitive to receive this designation. Despite being removed from the list on November 3, 2021, Fisher continues to be a wanted fugitive, with his ultimate fate still unknown.
