Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Róbert Zimonyi

Róbert Zimonyi, born on April eighteenth, nineteen eighteen, was a distinguished rowing coxswain who made significant contributions to the sport both in Hungary and the United States. He represented Hungary in various rowing events at the nineteen forty-eight and nineteen fifty-two Olympics, where he notably secured a bronze medal in coxed pairs.

Following the Hungarian Revolution of nineteen fifty-six, Zimonyi relocated to the United States, where he embraced his new life and became a naturalized citizen in nineteen sixty-two. His rowing career flourished in America, culminating in an Olympic gold medal in nineteen sixty-four and a European bronze medal in nineteen sixty-five, both achieved in the eights. Additionally, he triumphed at the nineteen sixty-seven Pan American Games, winning a gold medal in coxed fours.

After a successful career in rowing, Zimonyi transitioned away from the sport in the late nineteen sixties and chose not to pursue coaching. Although he was trained as an accountant, his journey in the United States led him to work at a brick company owned by fellow rower John B. Kelly Sr. In nineteen sixty-three, he took on the role of accountant at Sandmeyer Steel, where he dedicated himself until his retirement in nineteen eighty-three.
