Roberto Cherro

Roberto Cherro, born on February twenty-third, nineteen oh seven, in Barracas, Buenos Aires, was a prominent Argentine football striker and coach. He is best remembered for his remarkable tenure at Boca Juniors, where he became the club's all-time leading scorer with two hundred twenty-one goals in three hundred five official matches. This record stood until it was eclipsed by Martín Palermo in two thousand ten.

Throughout his illustrious career, Cherro showcased his exceptional talent by ranking fifth among the all-time top scorers in the Primera División, netting two hundred thirty-six goals in three hundred forty-five league appearances. His prowess on the field earned him five league titles with Boca Juniors, and he was the club's top scorer on five occasions, achieving remarkable goal tallies of twenty, thirty-two, and thirty-seven in the years nineteen twenty-six, nineteen twenty-eight, and nineteen thirty, respectively.

In addition to his club success, Cherro represented the Argentina national team, contributing to their silver medal victory at the 1928 Summer Olympics.
