Roberto Orci

Roberto Orci, born on July 20, 1973, in Mexico City, is a prominent screenwriter, film producer, and television producer. He is widely recognized for his collaborative work with Alex Kurtzman, co-writing blockbuster scripts for major films such as Transformers (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014).

Orci's journey in the entertainment industry began during his school years in California, where he formed a lasting partnership with Kurtzman. Their early careers included writing for popular television series like Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess. In 2008, they teamed up with J. J. Abrams to create the critically acclaimed series Fringe, followed by the creation of Sleepy Hollow in 2013.

The duo's first film project was Michael Bay's The Island, which paved the way for their involvement in the Transformers franchise. Their combined efforts from 2005 to 2011 generated over three billion dollars in revenue. Orci made his debut as a film producer with Eagle Eye in 2008 and The Proposal in 2009, further solidifying his status in Hollywood.

In April 2014, Orci and Kurtzman announced a shift in their collaboration, focusing solely on television projects. Orci worked on the third installment of the Star Trek series, Star Trek Beyond, until he was replaced in December of that year. He also created the television series Matador for the El Rey Network, which, despite initial renewal, was canceled after its first season.

Continuing his successful career, Orci remains involved in producing television series such as Limitless and Scorpion. His contributions to the industry have been recognized with awards, including the Norman Lear Writer's Award and the Raul Julia Award for Excellence, along with shared accolades like The George Pal Memorial Award.
