Rod Roddy

Roddy gained fame primarily as an offstage announcer on popular game shows, most notably CBS's Whew! and Press Your Luck. He is widely recognized for his iconic catchphrase, 'Come on down!' from The Price Is Right, a phrase that has become synonymous with the show, even though it was originally popularized by his predecessor, Johnny Olson.

In nineteen eighty-six, Roddy succeeded Olson as the announcer for The Price Is Right, a role he held until his passing in two thousand three. His tenure made him the longest-serving announcer on the current incarnation of the show as of twenty twenty-two. Roddy's charm and charisma also led him to appear on camera in several episodes of both Press Your Luck and The Price Is Right.
