Roger Stone

Roger Stone, born on August 27, 1952, is a prominent American political consultant, lobbyist, and writer known for his influential role in the New Right and as Donald Trump's longest-serving political adviser. His career spans several decades, during which he has been involved in numerous Republican campaigns, including those of Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and George W. Bush. Stone co-founded the lobbying firm Black, Manafort, Stone and Kelly in 1984, which became a leading firm leveraging connections for high-paying clients.

Stone's political style is characterized by his reputation as a seasoned practitioner of hard-edged politics and a political fixer. He has often described his approach as one of relentless aggression, famously stating, "attack, attack, attack—never defend." His controversial tactics have drawn both admiration and criticism, and he has been labeled an agent provocateur.

In the 2016 U.S. presidential election, Stone was at the center of media scrutiny due to his alleged connections to Russian interference and his role as a consultant for the Trump campaign. His claims of contact with Julian Assange during the campaign further fueled controversy, leading to investigations that revealed his orchestration of fake social media accounts for political influence.

On January 25, 2019, Stone was arrested in connection with Robert Mueller's investigation, facing charges of witness tampering and making false statements. Convicted on all counts in November 2019, he was sentenced to forty months in prison. However, his sentence was commuted by Trump just days before he was to report to prison, and he was later pardoned in December 2020. Since 2023, Stone has hosted "The Roger Stone Show" on WABC radio, continuing to engage with his audience.
