Roland Giroux

Roland Giroux, born on January fifteenth, nineteen thirteen, was a prominent businessperson who made significant contributions to the energy sector in Quebec. From nineteen sixty-nine to nineteen seventy-seven, he served as the Chairman of the Quebec Hydro-Electric Commission, an organization that has since become widely recognized as Hydro-Québec.

His leadership during this transformative period helped shape the future of energy in the region, ensuring that the commission met the growing demands of the population while maintaining a commitment to sustainability and innovation.

In recognition of his outstanding service, Giroux was appointed to the Order of Canada, initially becoming an Officer in June nineteen seventy-two. Roland Giroux passed away at the age of seventy-eight due to a heart attack in Quebec. He left behind his beloved wife, Yvette Blain, and three children, who continue to honor his legacy in their lives.
