Rolf Harris

Rolf Harris, born on March 30, 1930, was a multifaceted Australian entertainer known for his work as a musician, television presenter, painter, and actor. He gained fame for his unique performances that featured a variety of instruments, including the didgeridoo and the Stylophone. Harris is also credited with inventing the wobble board, which became a signature element of his musical style.

His entertainment career began in 1953, during which he released several popular songs, including the iconic "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport," which achieved Top 10 status in Australia, the UK, and the United States. Other notable hits included "Sun Arise," "Jake the Peg," and the chart-topping "Two Little Boys" in the UK. From the 1960s onward, Harris became a beloved television personality in the UK, hosting shows like Rolf's Cartoon Club and Animal Hospital.

In 1985, he took on a significant role by hosting the educational film Kids Can Say No!, aimed at teaching children how to avoid and respond to potential abuse. His artistic talents were also recognized when he painted an official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in 2005.

However, Harris's career faced a dramatic downfall following his arrest in 2013 as part of the Operation Yewtree investigation into historical sexual offences. Despite his denials, he was convicted in 2014 on twelve counts of indecent assault against four underage girls, leading to a prison sentence of five years and nine months. Following his release in 2017, one of his convictions was overturned, but his applications for appeal regarding the other convictions were denied.
