Roman Baber

Roman Baber is a prominent Canadian politician who has made significant strides in his political career. He has represented the riding of York Centre in the House of Commons of Canada since 2025 as a member of the Conservative Party. His journey in politics began at the provincial level, where he served as the member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for York Centre from 2018 to 2022.

Initially elected as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, Baber faced a turning point in January 2021 when he was removed from the party by Premier Doug Ford. Following this, he continued to serve as an Independent until the Legislative Assembly was dissolved on May 3, 2022.

In 2022, Baber sought to further his political ambitions by running in the leadership election of the Conservative Party of Canada. His efforts culminated in August 2023 when he was announced as the federal Conservative candidate for York Centre. His determination and commitment to his constituents paid off when he won the seat in the 2025 election.
