Ronald Lam

Ronald Lam, born on February 13, 1991, is a retired figure skater from Hong Kong who made significant strides in the world of competitive skating. Initially representing Canada, he switched allegiance to Hong Kong in 2012, marking a new chapter in his athletic career.

Throughout his career, Lam achieved notable success, winning three senior international medals and securing three national titles. He showcased his talent on the global stage by competing in the final segments of three ISU Championships. His performances included a commendable 20th place finish at the 2010 World Junior Championships in The Hague, Netherlands, a 13th place at the 2015 Four Continents Championships in Seoul, South Korea, and a 14th place at the 2015 World Championships in Shanghai, China.

In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Lam pursued academic excellence, graduating from the University of British Columbia in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. Although he received a Grand Prix assignment for the 2015 Skate Canada International, he chose not to compete in another season.

On July 24, 2015, Lam announced his retirement from competitive figure skating, expressing his desire to embark on a new career path beyond the rink. His journey reflects a blend of athletic prowess and academic achievement, making him a notable figure in the sports community.
