Ronny Jackson

Ronny Jackson, born on May fourth, nineteen sixty-seven, is a multifaceted American physician, politician, and former naval officer. He has represented Texas's thirteenth congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives since two thousand twenty-one. A member of the Republican Party, his district encompasses Amarillo and stretches across the Texas panhandle and much of northeast Texas, reaching as far as Denton.

Jackson's career in the medical field began in the mid-2000s when he joined the White House Medical Unit under President George W. Bush. He served as the physician to the president from two thousand thirteen to two thousand eighteen, providing medical care to both President Barack Obama and President Donald Trump.

In March two thousand eighteen, Jackson was nominated by Trump to become the U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs, a position he ultimately withdrew from the following month due to allegations of misconduct during his tenure at the White House. However, in February two thousand nineteen, he was appointed as assistant to the president and chief medical advisor, a newly created role within the Executive Office.

After retiring from the Navy as a rear admiral (lower half) in December two thousand nineteen, Jackson transitioned into politics, winning a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in two thousand twenty. His career faced scrutiny in two thousand twenty-one when an investigation by the Defense Department inspector general revealed various inappropriate behaviors during his time as an admiral. This led to a retroactive demotion to the rank of captain in the following year, although Jackson continued to identify as an admiral until the demotion was publicly disclosed in two thousand twenty-four. In two thousand twenty-five, his rank of rear admiral (lower half) was restored.
