Rose Lavelle

Rose Lavelle, born on May 14, 1995, is a prominent American professional soccer player who currently showcases her skills as a midfielder for Gotham FC in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States national team.

Her collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin was marked by exceptional performance, culminating in first-team All-American honors in 2015. Lavelle's professional journey began when she was drafted first overall by the Boston Breakers in the 2017 NWSL College Draft. Following the Breakers' dissolution, she transitioned to the Washington Spirit, where she played for three seasons before moving to Manchester City and OL Reign. In 2025, she signed as a free agent with Gotham FC, where she celebrated her first NWSL Championship victory and was named the championship MVP.

Lavelle's international career is equally impressive. She represented the United States at various youth levels before making her senior debut in 2017. At the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, she started six matches, netting three goals and earning the Bronze Ball for her outstanding performance. That same year, she was recognized as the sixth best player in the world at The Best FIFA Football Awards and was included in the FIFA FIFPro World XI.
