Her collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin was marked by exceptional performance, culminating in first-team All-American honors in 2015. Lavelle's professional journey began when she was drafted first overall by the Boston Breakers in the 2017 NWSL College Draft. Following the Breakers' dissolution, she transitioned to the Washington Spirit, where she played for three seasons before moving to Manchester City and OL Reign. In 2025, she signed as a free agent with Gotham FC, where she celebrated her first NWSL Championship victory and was named the championship MVP.
