Rosemary Aubert

Rosemary Aubert, born on May fourth, nineteen forty-six, is a distinguished Canadian-American novelist, poet, and critic, celebrated for her compelling Ellis Portal series of crime novels. Her literary prowess was recognized in nineteen ninety-five when she received the Arthur Ellis Award for Best Crime Short Story for her work, "The Midnight Boat to Palermo." Four years later, in nineteen ninety-nine, she was honored with the Best Novel award for her acclaimed book, The Feast of Stephen.

Originally hailing from Niagara Falls, New York, Aubert spent over four decades in Canada, where she made her home in Toronto. In addition to her writing career, she shared her expertise by teaching novel writing, inspiring a new generation of authors. Her diverse professional background also includes roles as an editor, bailiff, and security consultant for the United States consulate in Toronto, as well as serving as a court services officer at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
