Rostislav Mikhailovich

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Rostislav Mikhailovich

Rostislav Mikhailovich, born in the year twelve twenty-seven, was a prominent Rurikid prince and a significant figure in the Kingdom of Hungary. His early career saw him take on various princely roles, including that of Novgorod in the year twelve thirty, and later Halych from twelve thirty-six to twelve thirty-seven and again from twelve forty-one to twelve forty-two. He also governed Lutsk in twelve forty and Chernigov during the years twelve forty-one to twelve forty-two.

Struggling to solidify his power in Halych, Rostislav sought refuge at the court of King Béla IV of Hungary. There, he forged a crucial alliance by marrying the king's daughter, Anna, which further enhanced his political stature. His influence grew as he became the Ban of Slavonia from twelve forty-seven to twelve forty-eight.

After twelve forty-eight, Rostislav was appointed the first Duke of Macsó, overseeing the southern regions of the kingdom. His ambitions did not stop there; in the year twelve fifty-seven, he successfully occupied Vidin and began to style himself as Tsar of Bulgaria, marking a significant moment in his illustrious career.
