Roxane Gay

Roxane Gay, born on October fifteenth, nineteen seventy-four, is a prominent American writer, professor, and social commentator. She has made significant contributions to literature and culture through her diverse body of work, which includes the best-selling essay collection Bad Feminist (2014), the short story collection Ayiti (2011), the novel An Untamed State (2014), the short story collection Difficult Women (2017), and the memoir Hunger (2017).

In academia, Gay holds the prestigious position of the Gloria Steinem Endowed Chair in Media, Culture and Feminist Studies at Rutgers University. Her career in education began as an assistant professor at Eastern Illinois University, where she taught for four years before moving to Purdue University as an associate professor of English, achieving tenure. In two thousand eighteen, she transitioned to Yale University as a visiting professor, and in two thousand twenty-two, she joined Rutgers.

Beyond her teaching, Gay is a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times, where her insights on culture and feminism resonate with a wide audience.
