Roy Keane

Roy Keane, born on August 10, 1971, is a prominent figure in the world of football, known for his illustrious career as a player and coach. An Irish football pundit and former professional player, he is celebrated for his time in the Premier League, particularly as the captain of Manchester United. Keane is recognized as one of the greatest defensive midfielders of all time, having earned a place in Pelé's FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players in 2004.

Throughout his eighteen-year playing career, Keane showcased his talents at clubs such as Cobh Ramblers, Nottingham Forest, and Manchester United, before concluding his playing days at Celtic. His tenure at Manchester United was marked by remarkable success, where he led the team to seven Premier League titles, four FA Cups, and the UEFA Champions League, amassing a total of nineteen major trophies, making him one of the most decorated Irish footballers alongside Denis Irwin and Ronnie Whelan.

On the international stage, Keane represented the Republic of Ireland for over fourteen years, often serving as captain. He played a pivotal role in the 1994 FIFA World Cup, participating in every match for his country.
