Roy Lassiter, born on March ninth, nineteen sixty-nine, is a distinguished American former professional soccer player and current head coach of Denton Diablos FC in USL League Two. His career began in Costa Rica, where he spent the first four years honing his skills as a forward before making a significant return to the United States.
In nineteen ninety-six, Lassiter joined the Tampa Bay Mutiny as Major League Soccer (MLS) was launched, where he made an immediate impact by winning the inaugural MLS Golden Boot with an impressive twenty-seven goals. Over the course of eight seasons in MLS, he showcased his talent and determination, later playing a season each in the USL A-League and Premier Development League before retiring in two thousand four.
Transitioning from player to coach, Lassiter began his managerial career in two thousand seventeen with the National Premier Soccer League's Kitsap Soccer Club. He further developed his coaching acumen as the assistant coach for MLS Next Pro club Houston Dynamo 2 from two thousand twenty-two to two thousand twenty-three, before taking the helm at Carolina Core FC in two thousand twenty-four. On March fifth, two thousand twenty-six, he was appointed as the head coach of the Denton Diablos, continuing his commitment to the sport.
