She gained international acclaim after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in two thousand four with her electrifying performance of 'Wild Dances,' which not only earned her two hundred eighty points—a record at the time—but also solidified her status as one of the most successful female solo artists from Ukraine.

Her album 'Dyki tantsi' made history as the first from the former Soviet Union to achieve platinum status, selling more than one hundred seventy thousand copies within the first one hundred days of its release. To date, it remains the best-selling Ukrainian album, with over five hundred thousand copies sold in Ukraine alone, including its English version. Ruslana's music, primarily performed in Ukrainian and English, also features cover versions in Spanish and Latin languages, showcasing her versatility as an artist.

In addition to her musical achievements, Ruslana has made significant contributions to society. She served as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in Ukraine from two thousand four to two thousand five and was honored with the International Women of Courage Award by the U.S. Secretary of State in March two thousand fourteen.
