Ryan Gyaki, born on December sixth, nineteen eighty-five, is a distinguished Canadian former professional soccer player and current head coach of the Mount Royal University men's soccer team, known as The Cougars. His journey in soccer began at a young age, making a name for himself in the Calgary youth soccer scene before transitioning to the professional ranks at just seventeen years old.
Gyaki's early career saw him sign with Sheffield United F.C. in England, where he showcased his talent as a creative midfielder. Unfortunately, a knee injury cut his season short, but he persevered and later joined F.C. Hansa Rostock in the German Bundesliga. Despite his potential, ongoing knee issues led him to retire from professional play, prompting a shift towards coaching.
In two thousand fourteen, Gyaki took on the role of assistant coach for the men's soccer team at Mount Royal University. His dedication and leadership skills quickly propelled him to head coach in two thousand fifteen. In his inaugural season, he made history by guiding the Cougars to the playoffs for the first time, finishing third in the Prairie Division and marking a significant achievement for the university's soccer program.
