Saara Kuugongelwa

Saara Kuugongelwa, born on October twelfth, nineteen sixty-seven, is a prominent Namibian politician and economist. She has made significant strides in her political career, serving as the Prime Minister of Namibia from two thousand fifteen to two thousand twenty-five. A dedicated member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO), she has been a member of the National Assembly of Namibia since nineteen ninety-five.

In addition to her role as Prime Minister, Kuugongelwa-Amadhila held the position of Minister of Finance from two thousand three to two thousand fifteen, showcasing her expertise in economic matters. Her academic credentials include an Hon. Doctorate in Public Finance and a Master of Science in Financial Economics, which have undoubtedly contributed to her effective governance.

Before her political ascent, she began her career as an economist at the Office of the President in nineteen ninety-five and later served as the Director General of the National Planning Commission until two thousand three. Her leadership skills were further recognized when she was elected as the Speaker of the National Assembly of Namibia on March twenty-first, two thousand twenty-five, making her the first woman to lead the parliament in Namibia.
