Sabellius

Sabellius, a prominent theologian of the third century, is often remembered for his influential teachings that shaped early Christian thought. His teachings, however, may have roots in North Africa, specifically Libya.

Historical accounts, particularly from his opponents, suggest that Sabellius was associated with Pentapolis, a region where his ideas flourished. This connection to Pentapolis is noted by Dionysius of Alexandria around the year two hundred sixty, indicating that Sabellius's influence extended beyond his immediate locale.

Despite the lack of comprehensive biographical details, the legacy of Sabellius is primarily derived from the polemical writings of those who opposed him.
