Sabine Lisicki

Sabine Lisicki, born on September twenty-second, nineteen eighty-nine, is a former professional tennis player from Germany. She turned professional in two thousand six, and her career took off in two thousand nine when she reached the quarterfinals of the prestigious Wimbledon Championships. That same year, she celebrated her first WTA Tour title at the Family Circle Cup, marking the beginning of her ascent in the tennis world.

In March two thousand ten, Lisicki faced a setback when an ankle injury at the Indian Wells Open sidelined her for five months, causing her to drop out of the top two hundred rankings. However, she made a remarkable comeback in two thousand eleven, winning the Birmingham Classic and entering Wimbledon as a wildcard. She reached the semifinals, becoming only the second woman in Wimbledon history to achieve this feat as a wildcard, although she ultimately lost to Maria Sharapova.

Lisicki continued to impress, winning her third WTA tournament at the Texas Open later that year. In two thousand twelve, she reached her career-high ranking of world number twelve and again made it to the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. Unfortunately, another ankle injury hindered her performance on tour. The following year, she reached the final of the Wimbledon Championships, where she was defeated by Marion Bartoli, and secured her first title in three years at the Hong Kong Open.

In doubles, Lisicki enjoyed significant success, winning the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in two thousand eleven with Samantha Stosur, and again in two thousand thirteen with Mona Barthel. She also triumphed at the Miami Open in two thousand fourteen alongside her coach, Martina Hingis. Lisicki's prowess extended to mixed doubles, where she finished fourth at the London Olympics in two thousand twelve.

Between two thousand fourteen and two thousand eighteen, Lisicki held the world record for the fastest serve by a female player, clocking in at one hundred thirty-one miles per hour during a match against Ana Ivanovic at the two thousand fourteen Stanford Classic. Additionally, she set the record for the most aces in a singles match, hitting twenty-seven aces against Belinda Bencic at the two thousand fifteen Birmingham Classic, a record that was later surpassed.
