Sakine Cansız

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Sakine Cansız

Sakine Cansız, born on February twelfth, nineteen fifty-eight, was a prominent Kurdish political activist and one of the co-founders of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). Her dedication to the Kurdish cause was evident from an early age, as she became a significant figure in the movement advocating for Kurdish rights and autonomy.

In the nineteen eighties, Cansız faced severe repression for her activism, enduring arrest and torture at the hands of Turkish police. Despite these harrowing experiences, she remained steadfast in her commitment to the Kurdish struggle, becoming a close associate of Abdullah Öcalan, the PKK's founding leader, and rising to a senior position within the organization.

Tragically, Sakine Cansız's life was cut short on January tenth, two thousand thirteen, when she was murdered in Paris alongside two fellow Kurdish activists, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Söylemez. Their deaths marked a significant loss for the Kurdish community and highlighted the ongoing struggles faced by activists in the pursuit of justice and recognition.
