Salih al-Fawzan, born on September twenty-eighth, nineteen thirty-five, is a prominent Saudi Islamic scholar and the fourth Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, a position he has held since October twenty-second, twenty twenty-five. Renowned for his contributions to the Salafi movement, he is recognized as one of its senior scholars.
In addition to his role as Grand Mufti, al-Fawzan is an esteemed member of Saudi Arabia's Council of Senior Scholars and the fiqh council in Mecca, which is affiliated with the Muslim World League. His influence extends to various religious and educational institutions, where he serves on the Supervisory Committee for Preachers during Hajj and is a member of the Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta.
Al-Fawzan is also an imam, khatib, and educator at the Prince Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Mosque in Riyadh. His commitment to Islamic education is further exemplified through his participation in the radio program Nūr 'Alā ad-Darb, where he addresses questions on Islamic topics, and his contributions to scholarly journals through research, studies, letters, and fatwas.
