Sam Cassell

Samuel James Cassell Sr., born on November 18, 1969, is a distinguished American basketball coach and former professional player, currently serving as an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics in the NBA. His journey in basketball began when he was drafted twenty-fourth overall in the 1993 NBA draft after an impressive collegiate career at Florida State University.

Over a remarkable fifteen-year career, Cassell showcased his talents with eight different teams, leaving a significant mark in the league. He was honored with selections to the NBA All-Star Game and the All-NBA Team during the 2003–04 season, a testament to his skill and impact on the court.

Cassell's early years with the Houston Rockets were particularly noteworthy, as he played a crucial role in securing back-to-back championships in 1994 and 1995. He later added a third championship to his accolades with the Boston Celtics in 2008, marking the end of his playing career.
