Sam Cooke

Sam Cooke, born on January twenty-second, nineteen thirty-one, was an iconic American soul singer and songwriter whose influence resonates through the music industry to this day. Known as the 'King of Soul,' Cooke's distinctive vocal style and pioneering contributions to the genre have solidified his status as one of the most significant figures in popular music history.

Throughout his remarkable eight-year career, Cooke achieved extraordinary success, with twenty-nine singles reaching the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and twenty singles landing in the Top 10 of Billboard's Black Singles chart.
