Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Sam Giancana

Sam Giancana, born on June fifteenth, nineteen oh eight, was a notorious American mobster who rose to prominence as the boss of the Chicago Outfit from nineteen fifty-seven to nineteen sixty-six. His early life in Chicago, where he was born to Italian immigrant parents, set the stage for his eventual involvement in organized crime. As a teenager, Giancana joined the 42 Gang, quickly establishing a reputation that caught the attention of the Chicago Outfit's leadership, leading him to join their ranks in the late nineteen thirties.

Throughout the forties and fifties, Giancana exerted control over various illegal enterprises, including gambling, liquor distribution, and political rackets, particularly in Louisiana. Notably, in the early nineteen forties, he played a significant role in the takeover of Chicago's black American lottery payout system for the Outfit. His ascent to power culminated in nineteen fifty-seven when he became the boss of the Chicago Outfit.

Giancana's influence extended beyond organized crime; he was reportedly involved in John F. Kennedy's election victory in nineteen sixty. During the turbulent sixties, he was also recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency in a controversial plot to assassinate Cuban leader Fidel Castro. Conspiracy theories have linked Giancana, along with other Mafia leaders, to the assassination of John F. Kennedy, further entrenching his legacy in American history.

In nineteen sixty-five, Giancana faced legal troubles, being convicted of contempt of court and serving one year in prison. Following his release, he fled to Cuernavaca, Mexico, but was deported back to the United States in nineteen seventy-four, returning to Chicago. Tragically, his life came to a violent end on June nineteenth, nineteen seventy-five, when he was murdered at his home in Oak Park, Illinois, just before he was set to testify before the Church Committee.
