Sam Matekane

Sam Matekane, born on March fifteenth, nineteen fifty-eight, is a prominent Mosotho businessman and politician who has been serving as the Prime Minister of Lesotho since two thousand twenty-two. His rise to political prominence is marked by a successful career in the diamond mining industry, where he amassed considerable wealth, making him one of the richest individuals in the nation.

Before entering the political arena, Matekane established the Matekane Group of Companies (MGC) in nineteen eighty-six, which has been instrumental in securing government-issued construction contracts. His business acumen laid the foundation for his later political endeavors.

In March two thousand twenty-two, Matekane took a significant step by holding a press conference at his hotel, where he announced the formation of the Revolution for Prosperity (RFP) party. His campaign was notably self-funded and leveraged a strong social media presence, which resonated with the electorate.
