Sam Mewis

Sam Mewis, born on October ninth, nineteen ninety-two, is a distinguished American former professional soccer player and current association football coach. Raised in Hanson, Massachusetts, she showcased her talent at the collegiate level with the UCLA Bruins, where she played a pivotal role in securing an NCAA championship in two thousand thirteen.

In two thousand fifteen, Mewis was selected as the fourth overall pick in the NWSL College Draft by the Western New York Flash. Her tenure with the Flash was marked by success, culminating in her first NWSL Championship victory in two thousand sixteen. Following the club's transition to the North Carolina Courage, she continued to shine, contributing to three consecutive NWSL Shields and clinching two consecutive Championships in two thousand eighteen and two thousand nineteen.

Her career took an international turn when she joined Manchester City in the FA Women's Super League, where she celebrated an FA Cup victory in two thousand twenty. Mewis's exceptional skills earned her the top spot on ESPN FC's ranking of the best fifty women's soccer players in the world in two thousand twenty-one.
