Sam Morsy, born on September 10, 1991, is a professional footballer who currently plays as a defensive midfielder for EFL Championship club Bristol City. Raised in England, Morsy has also represented the Egypt national team, earning nine caps throughout his international career.

His football journey began in 2008 when he joined the Port Vale youth team after being released from the Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy. Morsy made his debut in February 2010 and turned professional with Port Vale in the summer of that year. He quickly established himself in the first team during the 2010–11 season, leading to a two-year contract and contributing to the club's promotion from League Two in the 2012–13 season.

In July 2013, Morsy transferred to Chesterfield, where he played a pivotal role in their success, including a victory in the 2014 Football League Trophy and winning the League Two title in the 2013–14 season. His career progressed further when he signed with Wigan Athletic in January 2016, helping the team secure the League One title in the 2015–16 season.

After a loan spell at Barnsley in August 2016, Morsy returned to Wigan, where he became a key player in their immediate promotion back to the Championship by winning the League One title again in the 2017–18 season. He was honored as Wigan's Player of the Year for the 2019–20 campaign before moving to Middlesbrough in September 2020.

In August 2021, Morsy joined Ipswich Town, where he played a crucial role in their promotion from League One at the end of the 2022–23 season, even captaining the team into the Premier League the following year. After a brief stint with Kuwait SC in July 2025, he returned to England, signing with Bristol City in January 2026.
