Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Samael Aun Weor

Samael Aun Weor, born Víctor Manuel Gómez Rodríguez on March 6, 1917, was a prominent Colombian-Mexican writer, esotericist, and psychologist. He is best known for authoring over sixty books that delve into the realm of esoteric spirituality. Weor established a new religious movement known as 'Universal Gnosticism' or simply gnosis, focusing on the practical and esoteric principles aimed at awakening consciousness and transforming the psychological state of practitioners.

Initially gaining recognition in Colombia's Gnostic circles, Weor relocated to Mexico in nineteen fifty-six, where his teachings flourished and attracted a wider audience. His works became influential among those interested in occultism and Western esotericism, leading to translations in various languages. Even today, his doctrine continues to be studied and revered.

In nineteen forty-eight, Gómez adopted the name Aun Weor, which translates to 'the verb or messenger of God.' Following a significant spiritual ceremony in nineteen fifty-four, he embraced the name Samael Aun Weor, which he maintained until his passing on December 24, 1977. He referred to his teachings as 'The Doctrine of Synthesis,' asserting that they encapsulated the essence of the perennial philosophy, with the ultimate goal of achieving 'Christification' and 'Final Liberation.'
