He was a dominant force in the league, leading in completion percentage eight times, passing yards four times, and passing touchdowns twice. His prowess extended beyond quarterbacking; he also led the NFL in punting average five times and recorded eleven interceptions in nineteen forty-three, showcasing his all-around talent.

After hanging up his cleats, Baugh transitioned into coaching, first at the collegiate level with the Hardin–Simmons Cowboys, before moving on to professional coaching roles with the New York Titans and Houston Oilers.
