Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Samra Habib

Samra Habib is a talented Pakistani Canadian photographer, writer, and activist whose work has significantly impacted the LGBTQ Muslim community. They are best known for their groundbreaking photography project, Just Me and Allah, which they launched in two thousand fourteen. This project aims to document the diverse lives and experiences of LGBTQ Muslims, shedding light on a community often marginalized within both religious and societal contexts.

Born in Pakistan to Ahmadi Muslim parents, Habib's journey took a pivotal turn when their family emigrated to Canada in nineteen ninety-one to escape religious persecution. Growing up primarily in Toronto, they faced numerous challenges, including being forced into an arranged marriage as a teenager. However, Habib's courage led them to embrace their identity as a queer individual, ultimately becoming a voice for those who share similar experiences.

In addition to their photography, Habib authored the memoir We Have Always Been Here, published in two thousand nineteen by Penguin Random House Canada. This poignant narrative explores their life as a queer-identified Muslim, offering insights into the intersection of faith, identity, and belonging. Through their writing, they have also raised awareness about pressing social issues, including women's rights and the unique challenges faced by queer Muslims.
