Samuel ibn Tibbon

Samuel ibn Tibbon, born around 1150 in Lunel, Languedoc, was a prominent Jewish philosopher, physician, and translator who made significant contributions to Jewish thought during the Middle Ages. He spent much of his life in Provence, which is now part of France, and passed away around 1230 in Marseille.

Best known for his translations of Jewish rabbinic literature from Arabic to Hebrew, Samuel ibn Tibbon played a crucial role in bridging cultural and intellectual gaps.
