Samuel Morin, born on July twelfth, nineteen ninety-five, is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman known for his tenure with the Philadelphia Flyers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Selected eleventh overall in the first round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Morin showcased his potential early in his career.
Before stepping onto the professional stage, Morin spent four impactful seasons with the Rimouski Océanic in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). His contributions were pivotal in leading the team to a President's Trophy victory in two thousand fifteen, marking a significant achievement in his junior career.
Morin made his professional debut with the Flyers' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, in the following season. However, his journey in professional hockey was marred by knee injuries over the final four seasons, which limited him to just twenty-eight NHL games and a total of fifty-five professional games.
In two thousand twenty-two, after missing the entire twenty twenty-one to twenty-two hockey season due to injury, Morin made the difficult decision to retire at the young age of twenty-six, closing a chapter on a promising career that was unfortunately hindered by physical setbacks.
