Sandis Ozoliņš, born on August 3, 1972, is a distinguished Latvian former professional ice hockey player and coach, renowned for his remarkable contributions to the sport. Commonly spelled as Sandis Ozolinsh in North America, he made a significant impact during his career in the National Hockey League (NHL), where he was celebrated as a seven-time All-Star and a Stanley Cup champion with the 1995–96 Colorado Avalanche.
Throughout his illustrious career, Ozoliņš established himself as the all-time leader in goals, assists, points, and games played by a Latvian in the NHL. His tenure with teams such as the San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, and New York Rangers showcased his exceptional skills as an offensive defenceman, often contributing to his team's scoring opportunities.
