Sandra Kim

Sandra Caldarone, known professionally as Sandra Kim, is a celebrated Belgian singer of Italian descent, born on October 15, 1972. She gained international fame at the tender age of thirteen when she won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1986 held in Bergen, Norway. Her winning song, 'J'aime la vie' ('I love life'), became an anthem of joy, despite the controversy surrounding her age, as the lyrics suggested she was fifteen. A petition from Switzerland to disqualify her based on her actual age was ultimately unsuccessful, allowing her to secure her place in Eurovision history as its youngest winner.

In addition to her Eurovision triumph, Kim showcased her talent on a global stage by representing Belgium at the Yamaha Music Festival in Tokyo later that same year. She also lent her voice to the title song of the French animated series 'Il était une fois... la vie,' further establishing her presence in the music industry.

After a hiatus, Sandra Kim returned to the music scene with her pop rock album 'Make Up,' released on May twelfth, two thousand eleven. The album featured contributions from renowned Belgian artists, including Salvatore Adamo and Dani Klein, showcasing her versatility and enduring appeal. In a testament to her continued relevance, she won the inaugural season of the Belgian version of 'The Masked Singer' as 'Queen.'

In March two thousand twenty-three, Kim made a special appearance as a guest celebrity judge on the Belgian French-language reality series 'Drag Race Belgique,' further solidifying her status as a beloved figure in Belgian pop culture.
