Sandro Sukno

Sandro Sukno, born on June thirtieth, nineteen ninety, is a distinguished Croatian former professional water polo player who has left an indelible mark on the sport. He represented the Croatia national team at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where he showcased his exceptional skills and contributed to the team's triumph in winning the gold medal. His Olympic journey continued with a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics, further solidifying his legacy in water polo.

Throughout his illustrious career, Sukno played for VK Jug, a prominent club in Croatia, before transitioning to coaching. Currently, he serves as the head coach for the Italian club team Pro Recco, where he applies his extensive knowledge and experience to nurture the next generation of water polo talent.

Notably, Sukno comes from a family of champions; his father, Goran Sukno, was a gold medalist for Yugoslavia at the 1984 Summer Olympics. This legacy of excellence in water polo is reflected in Sandro's own accolades, including being named Croatian water polo player of the year in both two thousand fourteen and two thousand fifteen, as well as earning the title of best player in the 2014–15 Prva Liga.

In December two thousand seventeen, he was honored with the trophy for the best water polo player in the 2016–17 season and was selected for the All-Star Team of the World Championships, where Croatia emerged victorious. However, in May two thousand nineteen, Sukno announced his retirement from professional play, citing heart problems as the reason for his decision.
