Sandy Moger, born on March 21, 1969, is a former Canadian ice hockey player who made his mark in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Boston Bruins and the Los Angeles Kings. Moger's journey in professional hockey began when he was drafted 176th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. However, despite being selected, he never had the opportunity to play a game for the Canucks.
Throughout his five seasons in the NHL, Moger showcased his skills on the ice, accumulating a total of seventy-nine points, which included forty-one goals and thirty-eight assists across two hundred thirty-six regular season games. His playing style also led to him racking up two hundred twelve penalty minutes, highlighting his physical presence in the game.
After his time in the NHL, Moger took his talents to Europe, where he played from two thousand one to two thousand seven. His career is marked by a memorable achievement: he scored the first goal at Boston's FleetCenter, now known as the TD Garden, during a game against the New York Islanders on October 7, 1995. This milestone remains a significant part of his legacy in the sport.
