Sanikun Tanasan

Sanikun Tanasan, born Sopita Tanasan on December twenty-third, nineteen ninety-four, is a distinguished Thai weightlifter known for her remarkable achievements in the sport. She first gained international recognition at the 2013 World Championships, where she competed in the Women's fifty-three kilogram category and secured a bronze medal, showcasing her talent and determination.

Her career reached new heights during the 2016 Olympics, where she competed in the forty-eight kilogram weight class. Tanasan's exceptional performance culminated in a gold medal victory, solidifying her status as one of Thailand's premier athletes and a source of national pride.

However, her journey has not been without challenges. In January twenty nineteen, Tanasan faced a significant setback when she was issued a two-year doping ban after testing positive for banned substances. This suspension lasted until January twenty twenty-one, marking a difficult period in her athletic career.
