Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Sanya Dharmasakti

Sanya Dharmasakti, born on April fifth, nineteen oh seven, was a prominent Thai jurist, university professor, and politician. His career was marked by significant contributions to the legal and political landscape of Thailand, particularly during a transformative period in the nation's history.

As the twelfth Prime Minister of Thailand from nineteen seventy-three to nineteen seventy-five, Sanya played a crucial role in the democracy movement of October nineteen seventy-three. His leadership was pivotal when the country faced a power vacuum after the departure of the 'three tyrants.' Appointed by royal command, he established a precedent for prime ministerial appointments that has been invoked only a few times since.

During his tenure, Sanya served a total of one year and one hundred twenty-four days, during which he initiated the withdrawal of U.S. forces in a significant operation known as Operation Palace Lightning. His commitment to constitutional reform was evident as he appointed a drafting committee for the nineteen seventy-four constitution and served as vice-president of the constitutional congress.

Beyond his role as Prime Minister, Sanya was also the president of the Supreme Court from nineteen sixty-eight to nineteen seventy-three and held the position of dean of the faculty of law and chancellor at Thammasat University. His influence extended to the royal court, where he was requested to serve as the president of the privy council, further solidifying his legacy in Thai politics.
